Pre-demo update


After play-testing game I decided to restrict demo gameplay, because time it took me to finish it was much longer, than I expected and therefore it starts creeping a little to full game experience. Also I was making notes where gameplay and UI was lacking in my opinion. From all of those notes I was able to implement approximately half of them. I was recording all my gameplay and now I should have enough material for first version of trailer. And borderless window is now disabled, so you can again move around as you wish.

This new build contains these new game updates, history of all project changes is available on my discord server in changelog channel for Wild Wild Space:

  • Fixed some typos and visual errors in quests and items descriptions
  • Fixed ability to scroll with containers in HUD
  • Decreased font sizes in minimap widget
  • Added ability to hide quests
  • Server time and online players count is now hidden in singleplayer
  • Highlighted player position on minimap
  • Reset quests button is now hidden
  • Removed engine sounds for all mobs and keeping only for players fixing sound over saturation in some maps
  • Fixed visual bugs for contract tracking widgets
  • Ship changing now removes selected ship from inventory in station and puts in current actual ship, not leaving newly selected ship in inventory
  • Removed starting ship item ID from starting items datatable
  • Added selected background item icons to most hangar pages
  • In Overview, Ship Payload and Ship Configuration hangar is current active ship used as backgrounds
  • Added latest game version check to main menu
  • Added displaying game deploy version (test, demo, release)
  • Updated credits
  • Swapped buttons in report widget
  • Fixed accessing empty arrays during new game version check
  • Added parameters listing for selected items
  • Added counting to ship systems to allow correct calculations of systems parameters
  • Added additional datatable readers functions for previously non covered item assemblies
  • Increased drop rate for Fine Articulators from 7.5 to 30%, Quantum Communicators from 10 to 25%, FoF Matrix from 30 to 60% and Higg's Stabilazer from 15 to 20%
  • Decreased drop rate for Superdense Matter from 10 to 3%
  • Fixed displaying default none object data and buttons when there is no object to display
  • Fixed contract not showing its name in available contracts list
  • Added notification on full cargo containers when looting/harvesting
  • Containers stored in ship in Ship Payload Operations now displays their capacity
  • Containers in HUD now shows their contents in popup widget
  • Added slider to item amount selection for storing to ship containers
  • Fixed inability to store to container items which are placeable to ship slots
  • Added new dedicated levelling widget for future easier animations
  • Disabled borderless application window

I will continue with implementation of shortcomings I have found or were reported to me. I also started preparing Steam store page for game and I'm now studying what Steam requires of me so I would be able to push updates to Steam in same way as to itch.io.
